Medicine Banned in Punjab: Eight Unsafe Drugs Prohibited by Drug Controller

In a major crackdown on unsafe pharmaceuticals, the Chief Drug Controller of Punjab has announced a ban on eight medicines deemed hazardous for public health. All medical stores and pharmacies across the province have been instructed to immediately cease the sale of these medicines, while drug inspectors have been directed to confiscate any remaining stock.

Reasons Behind the Medicine Ban

According to official sources, these medicines were found to be substandard and unsafe for human consumption. Among the banned medicines, Flaygel, a commonly prescribed tablet for bacterial infections, was declared unfit for medical use. Similarly, Tramadol, an injection widely used for pain relief, was identified as a health risk and subsequently banned.

Metronidazole, another injection used to treat bacterial infections, was also included in the ban due to safety concerns. The Chief Drug Controller has emphasized that strict enforcement of the ban is necessary to prevent health risks among patients.
